Engineering Manager (Projects)

Your New Role

  • To lead the Projects Engineering team within the Private Networks business. Fully accountable for H&S, technical development of engineers, technical delivery excellence and supporting the sales team to identify the correct technical solution. ​
  • To operate as a member of the Private Networks senior leadership team, building strong working relationships with your peers and driving positive change across the business. ​
  • To work closely with the Operations Manager (Projects) to ensure sufficient available and suitably skilled resource whilst maximising utilisation. ​
  • To work closely with the Sales Leaders to support key account planning, broadening and deepening customer relationships and ensuring high quality delivery. ​

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Ensure the Engineering Team operates at the highest standards of Health & Safety. ​
  • Drive Project Business growth and profitability – ensuring sufficient skilled, trained and competent resource is available to meet demand. ​
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through technical delivery excellence throughout the project delivery. ​
  • Ensure compliance with Ipsum processes and driving of continuous improvement. ​
  • Manage resources effectively to maximise utilisation. ​
  • Ensure lessons learnt & best practices are embedded in engineering delivery process and culture. This is key to raise competitiveness and profitability. ​
  • Lead, Develop and Motivate the Engineering Team to ensure talent retention, personal development and high level of engagement. ​
  • Be recognised as an active ambassador of Ipsum. ​

About You

Essential Qualifications/Skills/Experience

  • Strong Technical knowledge in the HV & LV Industry ​
  • The ability to motivate and engage a team ​

Desirable Qualifications/Skills/Experience

  • Relevant Engineering Qualification (ONC/HNC or equivalent) ​
  • Recognised Safety qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent) ​
  • Direct leadership experience in a technical engineering environment ​
  • Knowledge and experience of driving H&S culture, compliance and safe systems of work. ​
  • Knowledge and experience in providing technical advice/technical problem solving to field based engineers. ​
  • Experience of leading, managing and developing a team of people. ​
  • Experience working in a fast paced customer facing environment. ​
