Android AOSP Developer - C/C++

Key Responsibilities : AOSP Development : - Customize and build the Android operating system from AOSP for specific hardware or devices. - Work with Android frameworks, libraries, and system services. - Modify and maintain the Android bootloader and kernel. Hardware Integration : - Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate device drivers. - Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-software compatibility issues. Feature Development : - Add or remove system features based on project requirements. - Develop custom system-level applications or services. Bug Fixing and Optimization : - Debug issues at the system, kernel, and application levels. - Optimize the Android system for performance, power efficiency, and stability. Collaboration : - Work with cross-functional teams (QA, product, and hardware teams) to deliver a complete product. - Ensure compliance with Android certification and compatibility standards. Documentation : - Create and maintain technical documentation for AOSP changes and configurations. Required Skills : Core Android Expertise : - Deep understanding of Android architecture (HAL, Binder, JNI, etc.). - Familiarity with Android build systems (e.g., Soong, Makefiles). Programming Skills : - Proficiency in C/C++, Java, and Kotlin. - Knowledge of shell scripting and Python for build automation. Linux Expertise : - Strong understanding of Linux kernel development and device drivers. - Experience in low-level debugging using tools like GDB, JTAG, and Logcat. System Development : - Experience with hardware abstraction layers (HAL). - Knowledge of bootloaders (e.g., U-Boot) and recovery mechanisms. Toolchains and Debugging : - Familiarity with AOSP tools like adb, fastboot, and ASAN. - Debugging techniques using systrace, perf, and other profiling tools. Preferred Qualifications : - Experience with custom ROM development. - Knowledge of secure boot, OTA updates, and DRM frameworks. - Familiarity with embedded systems and IoT devices. - Contributions to open-source Android projects.
