This Tamboré based position is one that offers a collaborative work environment, with a chance to create work for both new and established consumer brands.
As a Scent Design Manager, you will be responsible for developing creative strategies and leading regional projects as well as having some global project exposure. In this role, you will further develop business knowledge, potentially leveraging consumer feedback, and grow technical expertise, increasing IFF’s ability to win in the marketplace. You will utilize internal processes/programs/tools to support the overall Body and Hair Care business strategy. In addition, there is an opportunity for mentoring others.

- Partnering with Perfumers to design/create fragrance solutions against Body and Hair Care brief and initiative objectives
- Developing, driving, & executing olfactive strategies to support the success of the Body and Hair Care regional/category business
- Utilizing existing experience in product/fragrance development
- Learning, leveraging, and applying innovative technologies in Body and Hair Care
- Managing fragrance selection and identifying new winning themes for incoming briefs
- Knowing how to effectively screen down fragrance themes against project objectives
- Ensuring timeline and budget requirements are met
- Articulating clearly project process from beginning to end, including having the storytelling skills to present to customers (internal/external)
- Strong project management skills, communicating with various functions (perfumers, consumer insights, marketing, scent technology, commercial, management, etc.)
- Leveraging potential cross-category fragrance themes for Body and Hair Care projects
- Leveraging IFF’s Scent Portfolio for optimal efficiency in project work
- Willing to discuss and co-design consumer testing methods, questionnaires, etc. and applying the output insights from studies into creative development
- Understanding the market trends and shifts, and be able to partner with marketing on a regular basis to share olfactive and brand knowledge
- Creating and facilitating olfactive/fragrance trainings
- Ensuring personal development is a priority, aligning to IFF’s category and business objectives
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree / master’s degree in Chemistry, Business or Marketing
- Excellent olfactive capabilities
- Min 3 to 6 years of fragrance industry and evaluation experience (fragrance house or consumer goods company)
- Any experience in other categories is welcome
- Project Management experience, ideally with some fragrance/product development
