Principal Engineer - Functional Safety in Active Safety Systems

Full-Time - Permanent

Onsite - Munich

Responsibilities:

• Lead the independent functional safety development for the intelligent chassis system during the concept phase and at the system level, encompassing tasks like ID, HARA, FSC, TSC, TSR, FMEA, FTA, and DFA.
• Define functional safety variation strategies for the intelligent chassis system.
• Develop failure diagnosis strategies and safe state strategies at both the system and software levels.
• Participate in the hardware and software design processes for the functional safety of the intelligent chassis, including reviewing hardware, software designs, and test specifications.
• Oversee the development, analysis, and management of functional safety requirements, including writing system requirements specifications.
• Build and model system functions for HARA and simulate scenarios to support functional safety analyses.
• Develop and organize functional safety test scenarios and cases, formulate system function verification and system integration test specifications.
• Provide technical support throughout the development process, including Design Verification/Product Validation (DV/PV), mass production, and after-sales service.
• Conduct research on state-of-the-art functional safety strategies for intelligent chassis systems, ensuring the company's leadership in functional safety solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Vehicle Engineering, Mechanical & Electronic Engineering, Automation, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in functional safety development for braking systems or chassis electronics, including expertise in ESP, IBooster, IBP, and EMB functional safety design at both the system and software levels. Experience in ABS, TCS, and ESC functional safety development is required.
• Proven experience in failure monitoring and diagnosis strategies related to the functional safety of braking systems.
• Proficiency with tools such as CANape/Analyzer, Matlab/Simulink, and CarMaker/CarSim, with a preference for experience with CarMaker.
