Junior Cyber Security Engineer

Job Description
FS client is in need of a Junior Cyber Security Engineer to join their Cyber Infrastructure team
Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience in a cyber security role with a strong background in IT Systems Administration in a Linux/Windows environment
Responsibilities:
* Enhance Cybersecurity Tools: Continuously improve security tools, configurations, and identify areas for enhancement.
* Incident Response: Respond to alerts from various sources and perform threat hunting to investigate and resolve security alerts.
* Training & Awareness: Develop and run phishing and training campaigns to assess and improve staff awareness of security threats.
* Collaborate on Security Mitigations: Work closely with infrastructure teams to analyze and mitigate threats.
* 3rd-Party & Infrastructure Security Assessment: Evaluate the security of third-party tools, network infrastructure, and applications; conduct host enumeration and packet captures as needed.
* Training & Guidance: Provide security training and advice across the organization and facilitate external testing, such as penetration testing.
* Vendor & Due Diligence: Assist in due diligence for third-party services and tools, supporting purchasing and security testing decisions.
* Documentation & Policy Review: Create and update documentation, support annual reviews of security policies and processes, and explain complex security issues to non-technical staff.
* Vendor Collaboration: Engage with vendors for support as needed.
This role requires strong self-management, communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and convey technical security concepts effectively to the business
