Rate: £14.00 - £30.00 P/PH
The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is actively seeking a Band 4/5/6 Biomedical Scientist in Histology to join a busy laboratory in Buckinghamshire. We are looking for a dedicated professional who can significantly contribute to our cellular histology service, particularly in proficient microtomy.
As a Band 4/5/6 Biomedical Scientist in Histology, you will perform microtomy with precision, achieving high-quality sectioning at a rate of over 30 blocks per hour. You will oversee embedding and staining processes, ensuring compliance with established protocols. Implementing quality control measures and supporting senior biomedical scientists in delivering comprehensive histology services will be key aspects of your role. Additionally, you will provide training and mentorship to junior staff, maintain accurate documentation of laboratory activities, and assist in preparing reports for stakeholders. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations by participating in risk assessments and promoting a safe working environment is also essential.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience in a UK NHS Histology laboratory is essential.
- Relevant qualification in Biomedical Science (e.g., BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent).
- Proficiency in microtomy, embedding, and staining techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
