Job Description
AWS Cloud Architect - Fully Remote
Our trusted partner, a SaaS corporation that improves the lives of thousands of people every day is hiring a AWS Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of their AWS road-map to establish their cloud first strategy. To be considered, you must have strong capabilities in EC2, S3, RDS and Lambda coupled with scripting capabilities in Python/Bash or similar tools with demonstrable experience in developing IaC using CloudFormation or Terraform.
Our client is looking to pay a basic salary of £81,000 + benefits to be operational on a fully remote basis. This is a challenging position, with opportunity to lead a company through transition to a modern server-less environment.
Core responsibilities:
Design and Implementation: As lead cloud architect, design, create, and deploy a scalable, secure, and robust cloud solutions strategy and deployment on AWS.
Optimization: Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and reliability, ensuring efficient resource utilisation.
Security: Implement and manage security best practices, including IAM, VPC, encryption, and compliance with industry standards.
Automation: Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform, automating deployments and configurations.
Innovation: Stay current with AWS advancements and industry trends, driving innovation and continuous improvement in our cloud practices.
Key technical skill requirements to be successful:
Strong experience in cloud architecture and design with focus on AWS.
In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC.
Experience with infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of security best practices and frameworks, including IAM, encryption, compliance, and Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM).
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, ELK stack, or similar.
Proficient in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
Experience with data storage and databases on AWS, such as DynamoDB, Aurora, and Redshift.
