Quantity Surveyor
Civil Engineering Groundworks contractor based near Stockport, looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team. This £75mill turn over client is leading the marked in groundworks for new build/house build for the Northwest. They are expanding the team for £40mill of new works starting now!
About the role : Quantity Surveyor
As the Quantity Surveyor, you'll report to the Commercial manager. You and the commercial team oversee numerous groundworks projects on new house build sites across the North west.
The housebuilder clients you will be contracting for are the likes of; Redrow Homes, Keepmoat, Countryside, Miller Homes, and more. Supporting their projects from cradle to grave and installing; Roads, Sewage infrastructure, Drainage, DPC, Surfacing, etc.
You will need to report to the Head office Monday-Friday. The office/site requirements are about a 70/30 split.
Responsibilities for Quantity Surveyor
Costing: Accurately pricing the costs of materials, labour and equipment required for each project and submitting quotations for works. Ensuring scheme costs are correct on the system and raising queries where necessary.
Tender Preparation: Preparing and reviewing tender documents
Supplier and Subcontractor relations: Liaise with operational staff, including clients and subcontractors. Attending internal / external meetings when necessary and fostering good relationships. Manage the subcontract supply chain, issuing orders and the processing of payments.
Contract Management: Administering contracts and variations ensuring compliance.
Cost Control: Implementing effective cost control measure to optimise project outcomes.
Project Reporting: Regular reporting on financial progress, potential risks and cost saving opportunities to management.
Budget Management: Collaborating with Project Managers to establish and maintain budgets throughout the project life cycle.
Requirements for Quantity Surveyor
Previous Housebuild sector experience essential (client or contractor side)
Preferably experience doing contractor side groundworks projects (most ideal on housebuild sites)
Full UK drivers license
What we offer for Quantity Surveyor
£40,000 - £50,000 p/a base salary (dependant on experience)
£5000 Car allowance or a company vehicle
