Job Description
IT Infrastructure Support Engineer (Hybrid) is required by an established global company located in close proximity to Tower Hill paying up to £45k. This is a varied role with exposure to all areas of the IT environment, including networking, infrastructure, and cloud computing.
The Infrastructure Support Engineer will be experienced in resolving complex issues that have been escalated from the desktop support team, providing RCA,incident reporting as well as data-centre and server work, whilst supporting multiple clients. The IT Infrastructure Support Engineer will be actively engaged in project work, manage backups, and consistently deliver exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and resolve technical issues at the server configuration level.
Manage and troubleshoot problems in cloud-hosted environments, collaborating with third-party providers as necessary.
Plan and oversee testing for Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity.
Conduct and schedule system maintenance tasks.
Schedule and monitor security and audit activities.
Update and maintain the company network.
Execute internal product deployments.
Proactively identify and implement solutions for potential issues.
Perform root cause analysis and problem investigation to prevent recurrence.
Take ownership and coordinate the resolution of infrastructure issues, working cross-functionally to ensure solutions align with business needs.
Keep the Service Desk system up-to-date, ensuring timely updates, escalation, and resolution of assigned tickets.
Serve as an escalation point for 1st and 2nd line support.
Technical skills
Administration of Windows Servers
Management of Windows 10 and Windows 11
Administration of Cisco firewalls, switches, and routers, or equivalent VPN configuration and management (site-to-site, remote access)
VMware administration
Active Directory and Group Policy management
DNS and DHCP management
Azure/Office 365 administration
Experience with InTune and SCCM
Familiarity with backup technologies and disaster recovery/business continuity planning
Vulnerability patching and management
