Underwriting Technical Lead / Domain Architect
- Full time permanent position- Leading global insurance company- Salary up to £110,000 plus bonus and benefits- Hybrid working (Birmingham twice a week)
A global insurance business is currently looking for an Underwriting Technical Lead to join them on a permanent basis. This role will require working in the Central Birmingham office twice a week. The role will be responsible for the technical strategy that will enable the overall underwriting business strategy.
Duties will include:- Overseeing technical aspects of the underwriting process (submission, automation, AI) and ensuring it aligns with objectives- Designing software architecture of underwriting domain and managing technology delivery of development teams- Define technical architecture roadmaps and guide implementation- Support with development of underwriting strategy- Work to enhance operational efficiency- Identify workflows (pricing engines, policies, risk etc)- Ensure the best is being achieved from internal and broker data- Engage with third party suppliers
To be considered suitable you will need the following skills and experience:- Strong understanding of the insurance sector and underwriting processes- Technical background with domain architecture experience- Methodologies and framework knowledge- System architecture, design patterns and software development methodologies- Experience of AI Automation, data handling and data submission- Understanding of broker integration and distribution processes
