Estimating Manager

Job Description
Our client, a civil engineering firm, is seeking a Estimating Manager to join their well-established team. With a strong order book and long-term framework contracts, this role offers the opportunity to have a direct influence on the company's continued growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and support the estimation team and contract administrators.
Engage with clients on Direct Award Frameworks and participate in ECI for upcoming projects.
Prepare and submit estimates for highways schemes using existing schedules and first principles with Causeway software.
Lead client negotiations, including site visits, measurements, and work methods.
Develop project programmes and method statements using MS Project.
Build and maintain partnerships with key supply chain vendors alongside the Procurement Manager.
Lead the company's PQQ and framework bid submissions, including Social Value Matrix preparation.
Prepare detailed handover files for estimators to support site teams.
Assist the commercial team with Compensation Events and work closely with the MD on commercial strategy and marketing.Essential Skills & Requirements:
Minimum of 6 years in a highways estimating or senior QS role.
Proficiency in Causeway/Candy (or similar), MS Project, and MS Office Suite.
Familiarity with NEC, JCT Contracts, and SMM7.
Strong team leadership and development abilities
Excellent negotiation skills with a client-focused approach.
Experience in preparing method statements and working to deadlines.
Clean driving license required.Desirable Skills:
Health and Safety qualifications in construction.
Bid writing experience.
Proficiency with take-off software.Location & Additional Benefits:
Primarily based in Bolton, with projects across the North West
Flexible hybrid option: 1 day a week from home
