ATA are supporting a Global leader that provides design and installation functions for sectors such as Industrial, Automotive, and Aerospace. They provide a full turnkey process for the likes of JCB, Nissan, Toyota, and Caterpillar.

Part of a group of companies that collectively turn over $1 billion yearly their European subsidiary based in Staffordshire are looking to expand due to the high volume of projects and client demands.

Our client is looking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer to their dynamic and established team, working closely with industry experts at their new and modern offices. This will be a fantastic opportunity for the right Mechanical Design Engineer to work on design projects on a Global scale, these exciting projects can range anything from £500k to £20 million in value.

The Role:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be part of a vibrant team producing the best solutions for the projects using Autodesk Inventor CAD packages.

Some of the duties of a Mechanical Design Engineer will be to:

• Work off P&IDs to model 3D layouts of piping and process flows.

• Design conveyor, walkways as per client specification.

• Prepare pipework isometric drawings.

• Provide design support to sales & proposals.

• 3D modelling of a plant layout using AutoCAD Plant package.

• Design for manufacture for bespoke items and component modelling.

• Undertake site surveys using a 3D scanner.

• Attend design reviews internally and externally with customers.

The candidate:

The ideal Mechanical design engineer will have a passion for design and great attention to detail, the ability to work well in a team and as an individual.

To be successful in your application for the Mechanical Design Engineer role you will need:

• 3D modelling experience.

• 2D CAD software experience.

• A mechanical engineering qualification.

• Result driven, confident, and dynamic personality.

• To be flexible, team player and supportive.
