Fairmead are recruiting on behalf of a valued client for an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to oversee a high-profile commercial fit-out project in Cambridge. This is a permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to join a reputable and progressive contractor with a strong track record in delivering outstanding interior fitting-out and refurbishment projects.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the project team, ensuring seamless execution, and maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of the project, from pre-construction planning through to final handover.
* Team Leadership: Lead and motivate project teams, including subcontractors and supply chain partners, to achieve project goals.
* Client Engagement: Act as the main point of contact for the client, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and ensuring satisfaction.
* Trade Coordination: Manage key trades such as MEP installations, carpentry, joinery, and high-quality finishing works.
* Compliance: Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and project specifications.
* Problem Solving: Address challenges and obstacles proactively to maintain momentum and ensure smooth delivery.
* Progress Monitoring: Track project performance against agreed schedules and budgets, making adjustments as necessary.
* Handover: Manage the final stages of the project, including snagging, inspections, and the delivery of all documentation.
Key Requirements
* Proven experience managing commercial fit-out projects, particularly in office or corporate environments.
* Strong leadership and organisational skills, with a focus on building collaborative relationships.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
* Relevant certifications, including SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid (essential).
* In-depth knowledge of MEP systems and commercial finishes.
* Proficiency in project management tools and software.
* A commitment to delivering high-quality results and exceeding client expectations.
