Job Description
Our client is a respected and established financial services provider seeking to expand their infrastructure and security support. This is a lovely role for someone who likes to be in the office and being hands on. You will have at least 1 year of experience and live locally to Stafford. You will be Installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing network, hardware and software faults and solving technical issues. Supporting the Senior Infrastructure and Security Engineer in monitoring and maintaining the Society’s computer systems, telephony, networks and technology. Taking responsibility for supporting internal users in their use of technology. Developing and maintaining close relationships with infrastructure, hardware, and software partners. Troubleshooting and correcting user and system issues. Keeping up to date in the IT industry in relation to computer infrastructure and security.
Responsibilities of the IT Infrastructure and Security Engineer
• Working with infrastructure partners to implement updates and new versions of IT hardware and software to keep the Society’s IT systems, network equipment and servers up to date.
• Managing and resolving issues and incidents, which affect the performance and availability of IT infrastructure, systems & services.
• Maintaining the Society’s Microsoft 365 services developing and making good use of file storage and email services for all Society users.
• Manage Cloud telephony configuration changes
• Working with infrastructure partner on the planning and execution of infrastructure and security change activities.
• Compile and circulate IT service reports which show how IT is performing for the Operational Management Committee and the standard Board risk reporting.
Requirements of the IT Infrastructure and Security Engineer
• Computer, Cyber or Network Degree
• Desktop, server and network configuration knowledge and understanding
• Desirable: Network, Firewall, Virtual Desktop, VPN and VMWare knowledge and understanding
• Desirable: Experience of Microsoft Azure Power Shell, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Windows Virtual Desktop and SQL
• Microsoft Operating Systems - Windows 10, Server 2022. O365
• IP Telephone System configuration experience preferred
