Junior Buyer

Purpose: The purpose of this role is to manage the day-to-day operational purchasing tasks, expediting of orders and assisting with supplier management and contractual requirements.

Hours of work: 37Working days:4 Location: Manchester M28 2QB

Responsibilities:

• Processing and administration of purchase orders for raw material and components and maintain purchasing data within the MRP system
• Process Indirect Purchase orders.
• Assist Purchasing Manager with Non-Disclosure Agreements and contracts.
• Expedite purchase order lines weekly.
• Ability to cover the Goods In area & stores in the absence of the Stores Person.
• Answer Invoice and purchasing queries in a timely manner.
• Assist the Supply Management certification and the onboarding process of new suppliers by updating our MRP and Q-Pulse systems.
• Always work in line with Atecs company procedures and policies
• Maintain Atecs high quality controls and counterfeit prevention policies and procedures.
• Maintain the highest ethical standards even when challenged from above.

Ensure that Company policy on Health and Safety is reflected in all actions.

Requirements:

• Professional qualification in purchasing such as CIPS would be advantageous but not essential.
• At least 1-year previous purchasing experience would be preferable or a passion to begin career in purchasing.

Experience:

Previous experience of a manufacturing / engineering environment.

An understanding of ERP/MRP systems.

Good analytical skills and knowledge of the Microsoft packages (Word, Excel and Powerpoint).

Excellent communication / negotiation skills

Build supplier relationships with existing and potential suppliers.

Skills Required:

• Good analytical skills and experience of using Microsoft packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• An interest in buying both Direct and Indirect.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
