Mechanical Designer – 6-Month Project at Hinkley Point
£400 - £450
Location: Hinkley Point, UK
Duration: 6 Months (Contract)

Are you an experienced Mechanical Designer looking to be part of a dynamic project at one of the UK’s most important energy sites? A prestigious technical consultancy is seeking a talented Mechanical Designer to join their team and support a client on the development of a new HQ at Hinkley Point.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the design and development of critical infrastructure for the new HQ facility.
* Generate detailed mechanical design drawings and specifications, ensuring adherence to industry standards and project requirements.
* Conduct design reviews and adapt designs based on client feedback, site constraints, and safety considerations.
* Coordinate with engineers and contractors on-site to address technical challenges and ensure seamless project delivery.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with relevant certifications.
* Experience: 5+ years in mechanical design, ideally within large-scale infrastructure or construction projects. Previous experience with nuclear or energy projects is highly desirable.
* Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other industry-standard design tools.
* Competencies: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to solving complex design issues.
