We are now expanding into the B2C space with a new application aimed at transforming the student experience. Role Overview : We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer with strong deployment experience to lead the backend development of our new B2C application. This role requires a technical expert who can design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend code, ensuring high performance and responsiveness. Key Responsibilities : - Lead the backend development for our new B2C application, including design, development, testing, and deployment. - Collaborate with front-end developer, mobile app developer and data scientist to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic. - Optimise the application for maximum speed and scalability. - Ensure the application meets the highest standards of performance, quality, and responsiveness. - Design and implement secure data storage solutions. - Oversee the deployment of backend services on cloud infrastructure and ensure the reliability of production systems. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues that may arise during and after deployment. Qualifications and Skills : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. - 3 years of experience in full-time backend development, with a focus on building and scaling B2C applications on web and mobile platforms. - Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, or Go. - Extensive experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and integration with frontend frameworks. - Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and deployment tools. - Familiarity with databases (SQL and NoSQL), data structures, and design patterns. - Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automated testing frameworks. Knowledge of DevOps practices and managing cloud infrastructure. - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. - Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
