Platform/Integration Lead - Kubernetes/Docker

Job Title : Platform & Integration Engineering Leader Exp : 8 Location : Hyderabad Roles and Responsibilities : Position Overview : Lead the Platform and Integration Engineering function for our cloud-native technology organization, driving the strategy and execution of platform services that enable developer productivity, system reliability, and seamless integration across our technology ecosystem. Key Responsibilities : 1. Strategic Leadership : - Define and execute the technical vision for our platform engineering practice, aligned with business objectives and modern cloud-native principles - Lead the development of a scalable, secure, and efficient platform that supports microservices architecture, containerization, and cloud-native applications - Drive standardization of development practices, tooling, and infrastructure-as-code across the organization - Establish platform KPIs and metrics to measure success and drive continuous improvement 2. Technical Architecture & Implementation : - Design and oversee implementation of core platform services including CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, service mesh, and observability solutions - Lead the adoption of GitOps practices and infrastructure automation - Architect integration patterns and frameworks that enable seamless communication between services and systems - Ensure platform security, compliance, and governance through implementation of proper controls and best practices 3. Team Leadership : - Build and mentor a high-performing team of platform engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning - Implement agile methodologies and DevOps practices to improve team efficiency and delivery - Collaborate with engineering teams to understand their needs and ensure platform solutions meet requirements - Drive technical excellence through code reviews, architecture reviews, and technical documentation 4. Cross-functional Collaboration : - Partner with Security, Infrastructure, and Product Engineering teams to align on technology standards and integration approaches - Work with Product Management to define platform roadmap and priorities - Engage with external vendors and partners to evaluate and integrate third-party solutions - Provide technical leadership in architectural decisions and technology selection Required Qualifications : - 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4 years leading platform or infrastructure teams - Deep expertise in cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, service mesh) - Strong experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) - Proven track record implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices - Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar) - Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements - Excellence in system design, scalability, and performance optimization Preferred Qualifications : - Experience with service mesh technologies - Knowledge of observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) - Familiarity with GitOps practices and tools (Jenkins, GoCD) - Experience with API gateway implementation and management - Background in implementing zero-trust security models Relevant certifications : Technical Skills : - Cloud Platforms : - AWS, GCP, or Azure - Container Orchestration : - Kubernetes, Docker - Infrastructure as Code : - Terraform, Ansible - CI/CD : - Jenkins, GoCD, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions - Monitoring & Observability : - Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack - Programming Languages : - Java, Python, NodeJS - Version Control : - Git, GitHub/Bitbucket - Security : - OAuth, OIDC, Certificate Management - Leadership Competencies - Strong technical vision and strategic thinking - Excellence in team building and mentorship - Clear communication and presentation skills - Problem-solving and analytical mindset - Change management and organizational transformation - Stakeholder management and influence - Project and program management expertise - Impact & Scope - Lead a team of platform engineers - Responsible for critical platform services supporting 3000 microservices - Manage platform engineering resource allocation offshore - Drive adoption of modern engineering practices across the team (ref:hirist.tech)
