We are working with an exciting mid tier diverse international bank who are looking to employ a Loans Admin candiate on a 1yr FTC

Assistant Team Leader, Loans Administration

City of London

1yr FTC - £320 a day

Role

• To action the daily loan processing requirements, as a Participant, across the EMEA region;
• To act as referral point for Administrators and provide guidance and training where necessary;
• To support the Team Leaders and Section Head in decision making and strategic planning to ensure Section performs to fullest ability and requirements, defined by processes and procedures.

Background

• To ensure syndicated and uncommitted bilateral loan transactions are processed correctly and in a timely manner, under 4-eye control, in accordance with Head Office rules, regulatory obligations and local procedures. This also include fee processing, nostro reconciliations and associated loans reporting;
• Daily liaison with colleagues in the Marketing Areas and Treasury to manage the processing of Loan transactions;
• Frequent liaison with colleagues in pre-closing teams to ensure timely setup and settlement of loan obligations;
• Regular contact with Loan Capital Markets / Front areas to manage client queries.

Responsibilities

• Input all appropriate loan transactions into LIQ;
• Ensure all key-controls are met during the day by closely monitoring queues, intra-day reports, etc. and ensure all Aide Memoires are actioned in a timely manner;
• Seek ways to improve processes and increase STP without increasing risk including revision of Section Procedures and suggest improvements where appropriate;

Knowledge

• Solid understanding of Loans Administration roles and responsibilities, including relevant current market knowledge;
• Solid understanding of SWIFT payments and the wider implications of payment formatting;
• Understanding underlying legal loan documentation with a view to navigating easily in times of referral;
• Basic understanding of loan funding mechanisms via Treasury and implications of lack of communication.
