Who You Are
As a Senior Parent Support Advisor, you possess a minimum of 2 years of direct experience working with children, young people, and their families. You are adept at collaborating with a range of communities, partner agencies, and organizations, both public and private. You have proven ability to manage complex cases involving multi-disciplinary teams, utilizing strong verbal and written communication skills to achieve sustainable changes. Proficient in IT systems like Outlook and MS Office, you can efficiently coordinate and document family support plans. Ideally, you are experienced in running evidence-based parenting programs and familiar with multi-agency frameworks like TAF and safeguarding legislation. You embody professionalism and adaptability and are committed to fostering positive change within family dynamics. Required qualifications include an NVQ Level 3 or higher and an enhanced DBS check.
What the Job Involves
The role of a Senior Parent Support Advisor involves delivering holistic family assessments to provide coordinated support through single or multi-agency packages. You will lead professional efforts to address challenging family behaviors, enhance parenting skills, and improve educational outcomes by reducing exclusions. Key responsibilities include working with families to complete assessments, drafting and reviewing family plans, coordinating the 'Team Around the Family,' and directly supporting school processes. You will handle an average of 10-14 complex cases, ensuring timely interventions and maintaining high service standards, including out-of-hours support when needed. You will also lead on parental programs and contribute to organizational learning and health and safety protocols. Additionally, the role requires active participation in case conferences, maintaining accurate documentation, and complying with policies related to safeguarding and information security. Senior Parent Support Advisors are accountable for promoting the council’s commitments to equality, diversity, and safety in all interactions and service deliveries.
