Front End Developer

Column Technical Services is looking for a proficient Front-End Developer to apply your system design and development expertise in supporting an expanding organization that specializes in web-based case management software solutions for managing investigations, located in Lombard, IL. Essential Functions:

• Update existing software to fix errors, adapt to new hardware, or enhance interfaces and performance.
• Oversee the delivery and presales activities for customer's Case Management Software.
• Evaluate information to recommend and plan the installation of new systems or modifications to existing ones.
• Collaborate with management to discuss project specifications, procedures, and direction.
• Assess the feasibility of requirements by analyzing technology and resource needs.
• Travel as required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, support, document, and occasionally deploy customer's Case Products.
• Research and communicate product development trends and features needed to excel in the market.
• Develop customer's Case products based on requirements or designs provided by the Product Architect or Senior Developer.
• Present and develop strategies for features and product sets.
• Address customer requests for product/solution enhancements.
• Participate in internal proof of concepts (POC).
• Troubleshoot and support customer's Case applications and systems.
• Keep the product manager and team lead informed of task progress, issues, and status.
• Conduct peer reviews and test code developed by self and others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• Preferably a minimum of 5 years of experience in a programming role.
• A four-year undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in programming languages and tools: JavaScript, Angular, Vue.js, PrimeVue, Tailwind, Batch, UNIX Shell Script, HTML, XML, GitHub.
• Familiarity with job-specific software (VS Code, MS Teams, Co-Pilot, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Jira & Confluence, basic graphics editing).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience with operating systems: Windows and UNIX environments (Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, CentOS Linux, Rocky Linux, MacOS).
• Knowledge of databases: Postgres SQL.
• Experience with web servers: Jakarta Tomcat, Apache.
• Additional knowledge of Exchange Server, Active Directory, Java, and Elasticsearch is a plus.
