Position Summary

As a Quality Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for supporting the delivery of the Quality Assurance / Regulatory functions on an on-going basis in alignment with Quality Management System to ensure compliance, to meet business needs and customer expectations. Responsible for the execution of the various processes and systems related to the Quality Compliance function, but not limited to inspection readiness, inspection management, product complaint management, risk management, and quality incident escalations. The role will entail identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives related to the sites Quality Management System.



Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Use of data driven analytics to lead quality initiatives to reduce cost, reduce lead times, improve first pass acceptance, and grow both Abaco and supplier organizations
Responsible for improvement of key process metrics
Support an effective and motivated workforce and provide leadership for improved team results and employee involvement
Work as a change agent combined with the ability to work at various levels and cross functionally in the organization
Lead RCCA activities for customers, suppliers, and internally
Lead improvement activities involving Lean principles and tools
Meet as necessary with customers to resolve issues and problems
Monitor data input and output processes to prevent errors and discrepancies.


Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to manufacturing defects or deviations.


Develop and implement quality control processes to minimize errors in the manufacturing process.


Review engineering product releases before they are sent for production to identify and rectify any potential errors or discrepancies.


Work closely with engineers and product managers to ensure that design changes and updates are accurately reflected in release documentation.


Verify compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.


Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements.


Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of quality control effort.







Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field
Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience as a quality professional
Highly effective communicator with all organizational levels
Inclusive leadership style
Demonstrated computer competency, including Email, Excel, and Power Point
Proven leadership capability
AS9100 or ISO9001 QMS experience
Ability to stand, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, and reach with hands
Must be able to lift and move up to 10 lbs
Must be able to read, speak and write effectively in English
Ability to resolve conflict in a positive way





Desired Characteristics

Six Sigma Green Belt/Lean experience
Strong project management skills
Experience with AS9102 FAI preparation and presentation
Experience with Source Inspection preparation and presentation
IPC610 experience
AS5553 Counterfeit Avoidance program
Internal auditing experience
