Engineering Manager - Product Development

Job Role : As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of skilled engineers, driving the successful delivery of high-quality software products. You will ensure adherence to Agile practices, provide technical leadership, and mentor team members to achieve their professional growth. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with leadership skills to foster a collaborative, innovative, and efficient engineering culture. Key Responsibilities : Technical Leadership : - Hands-on contribution to technical activities, including architecture & design reviews, coding, and troubleshooting (up to 40%). - Define and enforce coding standards and best practices across the engineering team. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into technical solutions. - Drive automation initiatives to improve development efficiency and quality. - Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables adhering to engineering standards. - Identify technical risks early in the lifecycle and develop mitigation strategies. Team Management & Agile Practices : - Own and optimize the Scrum Agile process, ensuring adherence to best practices. - Foster a collaborative engineering culture focused on innovation and quality. - Mentor and coach engineers to promote technical and career growth. - Drive continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and methodologies. Product Development & Delivery : - Oversee end-to-end product development throughout the SDLC. - Coordinate with testing teams to ensure comprehensive validation of software products. - Ensure smooth deployment and release processes for product launches. - Monitor system performance, ensuring technical issues are addressed promptly. - Act as a technical liaison between engineering, product management, and stakeholders. Incident Management : - Provide technical leadership during incidents and outages, ensuring quick resolution and root cause analysis. Essential Capabilities & Requirements : Experience : 12 years in software engineering, including 3 years in leadership/management roles. Technical Expertise : - Strong Java Full Stack development experience in a product development environment. - Proven expertise in architecture & design reviews, system design, code reviews, and defect triage. - Knowledge of SAAS or financial services products is a plus. - Architect-level experience is highly desirable. - Agile Practices: Hands-on knowledge of Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). Skills : - Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities to resolve complex technical challenges. - Strong communication and servant leadership skills. - Growth mindset with a "can-do" attitude and ability to prioritize effectively. Preferred Qualifications : - Prior experience in a product-driven SAAS or financial services company. - Demonstrated ability to drive automation in engineering teams.
