We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Head of Architecture, Automation & Innovation to join our tech team. In this role you will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and execution of innovation, automation, and architectural initiatives across the organisation. This role will drive the development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies, streamline processes/systems and simplification through automation, and ensure robust architectural frameworks to support business growth and efficiency.

You will be accountable for:

Architectural Oversight:

  • Define and maintain the architectural vision, IT strategy, and technology roadmap.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of high-quality, cost-effective, and value-adding architectural solutions.
  • Establish and enforce architectural standards / guardrails, principles, and best practices across the organisation.

Innovation Leadership:

  • Develop and implement an innovation strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation within the organisation, encouraging creative thinking and the exploration of new technologies, with a view and roadmap to implementation to ensure they are enterprise ready.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends to drive business transformation and competitive advantage.

Automation Strategy:

  • Assist the design and implementation of automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, encourage business growth and derisk.
  • Oversee the deployment of AI, RPA, and ML technologies to automate business processes and improve productivity and leveraging corporate systems like data lake.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business teams to identify automation opportunities and ensure successful integration, delivered through the automation squad realising value of millions of pounds.

Team Development:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of architects, automation specialists, and innovation experts.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes continuous learning and growth.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders to align innovation, automation, and architectural initiatives with business objectives.
  • Communicate the value and impact of these initiatives to stakeholders and secure their support and buy-in.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and industry experts to leverage their expertise and resources.

To be successful in this role you will require the following…

  • Proven experience in leading innovation, automation, and architectural initiatives in a large organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of emerging technologies, AI, RPA, ML, and architectural frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and drive change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • The ability to respond and work at pace on a variety of projects
