**About the role**
As a Border Force Assistant Officer, youll be at the frontline of our
operations, where your contributions will have a direct impact on society. You
will deliver what the public expects from us.

someone on hand to support you. You will be working with and alongside
experienced colleagues.
The part you play will be a fundamental aspect in how we maintain the security
of the UK Border. So, what will you be doing if you choose to join us?
Our aim is to enable the flow of passengers and goods quickly and effectively
through the Primary Control entry points, while refusing entry to the UK when
appropriate and required. This means checking passengers to ensure our legal
duties around Customs, Freight, Immigration and Safeguarding are always
upheld.
As a Border Force Assistant Officer, you could be conducting checks on our
systems one day, and performing searches on people, goods, and vehicles the
next. Whatever the task, youll use law enforcement powers when necessary.
Youll also tackle international trade work, investigating errors and
complaints.

Your initial training will last around five to eight weeks. This includes an
induction, core training and Public and Personal Safety Training (PPST).
Travel and accommodation costs for training will be paid by Border Force where
required.
