Job Description

Our client specializes in manufacturing different gearing systems, in this position you will be operating various machines to produce conforming product. Aid the set up and preparation of materials and tooling for upcoming jobs, working from engineering drawings to produce precision spec components for clients in the aerospace and automotive industry

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate machines;
  • Aid / Change machine setting from one job to another within a set time frame;
  • Ability to read and understand drawings;
  • Change and adjust machine parameters and tooling as required to meet dimensional and output requirements;
  • Able to use micrometres, verniers and other inspection equipment to check work to drawing dimensions and validation sheets;
  • Apply appropriate deburring in accordance with the design specifications;
  • Setting and running multiple machines when the component and/or batch sizes allow;
  • Meet desired quantities, conducting in-process inspection and checking against drawings and specifications to ensure they are made accurately and to the highest standards;
  • Deal with technical queries where possible, as and when required;
  • Support colleagues by assisting with other duties when required, to aid the smooth running of the Company;
  • Work in accordance to the quality system and processes of the company;
  • Adhere to the company's health and safety requirements and complete training as required.

Skills and Qualifications/experience:

  • 3 - 5 years' relevant experience in a similar industry/role.
  • The ability to use a range of measuring equipment.
  • Good math and technical skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of systematic problem solving.
  • To be a quick learner and adaptable to change.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.

Hours

2nd shift hours:

37 hours/week, worked Mon - Thurs from 14:45 - 00:00

A shift premium will also take place on this shift at a 1.2X rate

NOTE: initially the candidate would need to work the 1st shift until relevant training has been completed and there are sufficient resources to effectively run the 2nd Shift.

1st shift hours:

40 hours/week, worked 07:00 - 15:45, Mon - Thurs and 06:00 - 13:00 Fri.

NOTE: They are about to roll out revised 1st shift hours which will be 06:30 - 15:15, Mon-Thurs and 06:00 - 13:00 Fri.
