ROLE TITLE: CNC OPERATOR REPORTING LINE: The CNC Operator will report to the Production manager DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW: The Manufacturing Department within Artemis Technologies is responsible for ensuring the on-time and on-cost of parts supplied to build the eFoilerTM and its systems. Working with the Design Team and Mechanical Engineers to develop efficient and practical processes for building Hydro Foils. THE ROLE: Reporting into the Production manager, this CNC Operator Role will be responsible for operating a 5 Axis CNC Machine, working with both the Production team and the CNC Programmer within the Manufacturing function in the building of Composite parts. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: To operate and maintain a 5 axis CNC routing machine. Keep track of tool usage and manage tool requirements. Quality inspection of parts using micrometres, Verniers and gauges will be required for the role of CNC Operator. Liaise with the Production Manager to ensure good workflow. Loading and fixing tooling and parts to be machined. Liaise with CAM Programmer to improve processes and manufacturability. Be able to work independently and prioritise workloads. Supporting the Manufacturing department to introduce new products. Other CNC Operating tasks as required on occasion that align with the individual's training and experience. PERSON SPECIFICATION: Education/Qualifications and Experience: Required: Minimum 3 Years experience running a CNC Machine. Experience machining composite materials. Experience in checking parts against drawings to ensure tolerances upon completion. Experience with running CAM programs. Must have a keen eye for detail. Self-motivated with proven problem-solving ability. Good communicator, written and oral. Able to organise themselves and others. Ability to work and make decisions under pressure. Able to meet tight deadlines. Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team. Excellent time keeping skills. Preferred: Experience using CATIA CAD/CAM. Experience using a CMS 5 Axis Router. Key Skills Required: Experience working as a CNC Operator in a manufacturing environment. Good IT skills, Spreadsheets, Email Communication. Full understanding of the standard operating procedures and work instructions for the role. Ability to read Engineering Drawings/Manuals of a high standard. Ability to set a high level of housekeeping to 5S standard within the factory. To comply with Health and safety policies at all times whilst in the workplace. Exercise absolute integrity in respect of confidential matters. Preferred: CNC Operating Experience gained within the marine industry. Experience of working in a low volume high complexity manufacturing environment. Experience of working with design and manufacturing engineers in the early stages of a project. Communication skills: Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and resolve. An appreciation of, and an ability to, positively resolve issues arising from different cultures. Teamworking: Ability to relate well to others, and build co-operative and collaborative working relationships, both internally and externally. Organising and Time Management: Ability to coordinate with other departments and flag issues. Dedication to completing tasks in high quality and timely manner with an ability to predict complex project timelines. Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
