Senior Data Scientist – Cape Town – R1.2mil to R1.4mil per annum

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data science methodologies, machine learning algorithms, and a proven ability to drive business insights through advanced analytics. Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of advanced AI and Machine Learning models to solve complex business challenges. Work closely with data scientists and engineers to ensure smooth integration and deployment of AI solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI solutions with business goals and customer needs. Analyse large datasets to uncover trends and build predictive models. Mentor and guide junior data scientists, promoting best practices in AI and machine learning. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of scorecard strategies. Active Learner, Change Agility, Data Science, Machine Learning, Predictive Modelling, Problem Solving & Analytical, Python Programming, R Code, SQL, Statistical Data Analysis Qualifications and Experience: Masters or Ph.D degree in a quantitative field, i.e. statistics, economics, mathematics, computer science, or other related field. 5 years of work experience in a data science related field, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects and solving complex problems. Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, with experience in data manipulation, visualization libraries, machine learning and statistical analysis. Experience or completed coursework in cloud-based computing platforms like AWS.
