Salary: £29,000 - £32,000 depending on experience
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 per week Monday -Friday 09.00 -17.00 -Travel across multiple sites in Greater Manchester will be required. We currently have offices in Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, Manchester City Centre, Stockport and Tameside. (Your base office will be discussed at interview depending on your home address location).
Desirable Criteria:
Recent experience of providing debt advice, and have successfully completed the Certificate in Money Advice Practice.
As our Welfare Benefits And Money Advisor you will:
- Provide participants on the Restart Scheme with informed money advice support, appropriate information and specialist advice to alleviate the additional stress generated by their financial circumstances and subsequently, allowing them to focus on getting back into Sustainable Employment.
- Work closely with the wider Delivery Team to adhere to the contract requirements in respect of performance outcomes, commercial compliance and quality of service.
- Liaise with third parties, as appropriate, including creditors, DWP, Job Centre Plus, landlords, utility companies etc. on behalf of the participant regarding arrears, repayments, and other debt issues.
- Provide money advice group sessions, workshops and briefings for participants. including opening a bank or post office account, budgeting, cost of living options , understanding credit options, etc.
- Keep up to date with legislation, policies and procedures relating to casework and attending relevant subject based training, briefings and networking events.
As our Welfare Benefits And Money Advisor you will have:
- Experience of working in a busy, evolving environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience of working in a performance target driven environment, such as business to business sales or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to persuade, influence and listen to others.
- The ability to effectively network to build and maintain effective relationships internally and externally.
- High level digital literacy skills, and data accuracy skills, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and web-based communication technologies.
