Job Description
Our esteemed primary school is currently seeking a motivated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dynamic team.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will be an integral part of our teaching staff, supporting the learning and development of our students.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Assisting Classroom Teachers: Collaborate closely with teachers to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and inclusive lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring that individual student needs are met
Leading Small Group Activities: Lead small group activities and intervention sessions, providing targeted support to students who require additional assistance, reinforcing concepts, and promoting independent learning
Supervising and Mentoring: Supervise students during classroom activities, maintaining discipline and promoting positive behaviour. Offer guidance and support to students, encouraging their personal and social development.
Curriculum Support: Assist with the planning and organisation of lessons, preparing resources and materials as required. Contribute to the development of schemes of work, ensuring alignment with the school curriculum.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Assist in the assessment of student progress, conducting formative and summative assessments, and maintaining accurate records. Provide feedback to students and teachers, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate strategies.
Individualised Support: Work with students on a one-to-one basis, offering additional support to those with special educational needs or challenging circumstances. Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Parental Communication: Establish effective communication channels with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on student progress, addressing concerns, and celebrating achievements. Attend parent-teacher meetings and contribute to written reports.
Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities, staying abreast of best practices in education and incorporating them into your teaching methods. Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the school's collaborative ethos.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Relevant qualification as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
Proven experience working as a HLTA in a primary school setting.
Sound knowledge of the national curriculum and current educational policies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents.
Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire young learners, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Proficient in using educational technology and software.
