Job Description

Reporting to the Europe Industry Director, the Industry Europe Project Director is responsible for the performance guarantee of the entrusted industrial projects in Europe (Pre-design agreements, Design review agreements, Design & build contracts). He/she is in charge of the design development once a contract has been signed and monitors the proper execution of the design up to the construction phase. A real project lead, the Industry Europe Project Director has a privileged function in the maintenance of the customer relationship, particularly through leading the change management, and in the coordination of the international project design team. You may also ensure the management of M&E packages during the construction phase.


KEY RESPONSABILITIES & ACTIVITIES


Bidding phase:
  1. Collaborates with the Industry Europe Design Director.
  2. If needed, may be asked to temporarily replace the Industry Europe Design Director in this phase and to work closely with the business development team on the sales offer.

Design phase:
  1. Works in close relationship with the Industry Europe Design Director.
  2. Contributes to the development and maintenance of the customer relationship and is a key contact for the client.
  3. Makes use of the supply chain.
  4. Ensures the production of all necessary offer's deliverables (e.g. technical memorandum, design optimization proposals, detailed time schedule, method statement, lump sum cost breakdown).
  5. Manages all the internal and external resources involved in the design.
  6. Carries out the technical design and estimating, in collaboration - where relevant - with the business development team and the project team (local and/or Industry Europe), from the kick-off meeting to completion and then the signature of the contract.
  7. Optimises the design of the building and its technical solutions.
  8. Is responsible for the performance guarantee of the design.

Construction phase:
  1. Collaborates with the local project team during the construction phase.
  2. Is responsible for the performance guarantee.
  3. Participates in the monthly steering committees.
  4. Leads the change management.
  5. Provides technical expertise to support the construction team.
  6. Ensures the respect of the work progress with the design.
  7. Maintains the customer relationship and remains the client's key contact.
  8. Ensures the client's satisfaction throughout the project's progress.
  9. If needed, may be asked to substitute or temporarily replace the local Project Director.

Management of M&E:
  1. Depending on the profile of the position holder and the projects' needs, additional tasks regarding M&E may be in his/her scope of responsibilities.
  2. Is part of the local project team on the construction site.
  3. Is responsible for the M&E packages.
  4. Proceeds to the purchasing of the M&E packages.
  5. Is responsible for approving the subcontractor's design of these packages.
  6. Supervises the proper progress of work of the M&E packages.
  7. Guarantees the performance of the M&E packages.
