Job Description

Schneider Electric is seeking a Team Lead for our Grenoble, France location within the Power Systems and Services division. This pivotal role addresses the critical design and development needs of both current and future technologies.

You will be integral to the development and integration of advanced “smart converter” systems specifically designed for our targeted customer base. This leadership position demands a strong passion for technology and innovation, along with a robust technical background in power electronics.

You will guide and inspire a diverse team of approx. 8 engineers, overseeing the R&D efforts responsible for the design, development, and implementation of medium-voltage power electronics converters.

Your Role:

Your leadership and technical insights will ensure that R&D projects are completed on schedule and within budget while adhering to rigorous quality standards.

Your Missions:

Your first mission is managerial:

  1. Lead and cultivate a collaborative and innovative team culture that stimulates creativity and effective problem-solving.
  2. Conduct regular performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback and establishing clear performance goals for team members; reward exceptional contributions to retain talents within the team.
  3. Implement organizational changes in processes, policies, or structures as directed by management, while ensuring smooth transitions.
  4. Communicate changes clearly to the team and address any concerns to maintain transparency and trust.
  5. Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, supporting their skill development and career advancement.

As a technical team leader, you will also be expected to:

  1. Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams—including hardware, software, mechanical, and testing departments—to deliver integrated solutions.
  2. Assist in the development and monitoring of project budgets, ensuring adherence to established financial limits.
  3. Ensure that team operations comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  4. Implement quality assurance protocols to uphold high standards of work throughout the project lifecycle.
  5. Serve as a liaison between the engineering team and other departments, management, and external stakeholders, facilitating communication and collaboration.
Your Profile:
  1. Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
  2. Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams (3 years minimum).
  3. Strong experience (8 years) managing complex technical projects successfully in the field of power electronics.
Your Skills:
  1. Extensive background in power electronics development (ideally with a focus on medium voltage applications).
  2. In-depth knowledge of converter topologies, control strategies, and simulation tools.
  3. Problem-solving abilities and a critical thinking mindset, suited for fast-paced and dynamic environments.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  5. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations pertaining to power electronics and safety protocols.
  6. Fully fluent in English (C1/C2 level); French would be a plus.
