About the position:
We’re looking for a Field Support Software Project Specialist to support the Raymond Engineering teams. This role will work a hybrid schedule from our headquarters in Greene, NY.
In this role, you will act as the critical link between the field and the development team, ensuring software systems operate seamlessly and meet user needs. By providing expert technical support, creating clear documentation, and driving effective communication, you will empower users and contribute to continuous software improvement.
In this role, you will:
* Diagnose technical issues, investigate root causes, and provide prompt and effective solutions to ensure customer systems function as expected.
* Collaborate with development and engineering teams to identify, report, and prioritize software issues, contributing to solutions and software enhancements.
* Deliver technical support via phone, email, chat, and on-site, addressing client inquiries and resolving software issues efficiently.
* Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to explain software processes, features, and functionalities clearly, producing accurate documentation and training materials tailored to diverse user groups.
* Provide feedback throughout the software release process, including pre-release testing, coordinating with teams, and ensuring successful deployments.
* Develop and distribute detailed release notes documenting software changes, updates, bug fixes, and new features for both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Maintain and revise documentation to reflect software updates and new releases, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
* Create user-friendly materials such as user guides, tutorials, and training resources to empower users to maximize product capabilities.
* Organize and structure documentation logically for easy navigation and searchability.
* Review and edit technical content to meet industry standards, ensuring quality and adherence to best practices.
About the schedule:
* This is a hybrid role that will have a varying remote/in-office schedule based on engineering and customer needs. In office days will be at our headquarters in Greene, NY.
About you:
* A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
* Four or more years of project management experience is required.
* Familiarity with agile project management tools such as Jira
* Proven ability to simplify complex concepts and make them accessible to diverse audiences.
* Strong customer service skills.
* Flexibility to travel up to 25% including internationally as needed.
Understanding of wireless networking and networking infrastructure.
* Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
It would be great if you had:
* Experience in a field such as software engineering, electrical engineering, or computer engineering.
* Experience with CAN/CANopen.
* Ability to read hardware specifications and schematics.
* Working knowledge and experience with current version control tools such as GIT
About the total compensation package:
Salary - $66,873 - $85,740 depending on experience
Relocation - This position may qualify for relocation.
