Graduate Assistant for Center for Accessibility Resources and Disability Services
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Director of the Center for Accessibility Resources & Disability Services, the Part-Time Graduate Assistant for Accessibility Resources & Disability Services will provide operational support to the CARDS office. The Graduate Assistant will assist with scheduling exams, proctoring in person exams as applicable, recruiting for note-taking services, helping to provide administrative support to staff, assisting with research regarding accommodations, and facilitating communications with students, faculty, and staff. The Part-Time Graduate Assistant will also assist with the creation, implementation, and management of new communication platforms, as well as with maintaining current communications platforms. This person will support the work of the entire Center for Accessibility Resources & Disability Services staff.

Job Description:
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Conduct research on accommodation requests, as assigned.
* Help recruit and match student note-takers for paid note-taking services.
* Work with current staff to assist in departmental tasks as required (including answering phones and monitoring office email inbox, printing and matching documentation, creating and maintaining student files, etc).
* Assist with updates for the website, social media, and other forms of communication as needed. These may include blogs, websites, letters, and other forms of internal college communications.
* Assist with exam scheduling and coordinating, as necessary.
* Provide exam proctoring throughout the semester, including during final exams.
* Provide office and student support with assistive technology (i.e. text to speech readers, PDF remediation, audiobooks, speech to text software, etc.)
* Assist in promoting and growing CARDS' mission and vision. through collaborating with CARDS staff and other campus partners as necessary.
* Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Willingness to learn new tasks and office systems.
* Ability to use social media and a variety of communications tools.
* Must have some research experience.
* Must have strong interpersonal skills and thrive in a team environment.
* Must be willing to take direction and receive feedback.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality in a higher education setting.
Qualifications:
* The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in disability services, disability studies, and/or higher education. In addition they should have the following:
* currently enrolled in a graduate degree program;
* prior experience working in an educational environment, preferably in higher education;
* familiarity or prior experience working with disability services or other supportive services in an educational setting.
* An understanding of disability justice framework.
This position is primarily in person.
Pay Rate: $20 per hour at approximately 15 hours per week
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
