Application Development Senior Analyst Position Overview: Cigna, a leading Health Services company, is looking for an exceptional Application Developer in our Quality Engineering organization. The Application Developer handles the delivery of a business need starting from understanding the requirements to deploying the software into production. This role requires you to be fluent in some of the critical technologies with proficiency in others, have a hunger to learn on the job, and add value to the business. Critical attributes of being a Full Stack Developer, among others, is ownership, eagerness to learn, and an open mindset. In addition to application development, the Full Stack Developer should have an automation first and continuous improvement mindset. Person should drive the adoption of CI/CD tools and support the improvement of the tools sets / processes. Responsibilities: Articulate clear business objectives aligned to technical specifications and work in an iterative, agile pattern daily. Demonstrate skill in using coding standards, reusable code and being an active participant in code reviews.? Have a quality mindset for code and application quality Incorporating automated testing, CI/CD, and an Agile/Lean mindset in all tasks Have the passion to take risks and champion innovative ideas Coding Responsibilities: Design and create front end webpages using Angular but may also require other Object-Oriented Programming languages such as C#, Python, TypeScript Design and create back end using Django and other possible frameworks such as .Net and Spring boot Create decoupled, reusable, easily maintainable, code within the QEA Portal Create microservices Create Agile user stories to outline delivery of working code Collaborate with team on design and architecture of our product Qualifications Required Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and can interact with all levels of the organization. Persuasive influencing / negotiation skills. Solid interpersonal / relationship management skills. Reliable time and project management skills. Familiarity with most of the following technologies- JAVA, Angular, C#, Python Familiarity with agile methodology including SCRUM team leadership. Familiarity with modern delivery practices such as continuous integration, continuous testing, behavior/test driven development, and specification by example. Required Experience & Education: 4 years of experience with Agile development (SCRUM methodology) desired 4 years of experience with Django, Bootstrap, or .NET Frameworks 4 years of experience with Object-Oriented Programming languages Angular, TypeScript, C#, Java, or Python 4 years of experience in IT, specifically within application development or integration services development including Web Development with UI development using HTML and Scripting, leveraging either Angular or React as well as backend development using Django or similar Desired Experience: Experience with GitHub or other source code repository. Experience on cloud technologies - AWS (Amazon Web Services), OpenShift, Unity Work well with others as part of a distributed agile (SAFe) team of developers, analysts, QA, and more.
