Senior Software Development Engineer - Test - Playwright Testing

We are looking for a Senior SDET to lead our quality engineering automation efforts, mentor junior team members, and collaborate with development teams to enhance our testing frameworks and processes. This is a technically demanding role where you'll design and implement advanced test automation frameworks, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, and ensure robust software quality across complex workflows. Hands-on experience with Cypress for at least one year is mandatory. Key Responsibilities Automation Leadership : - Architect, develop, and implement comprehensive test automation frameworks for UI, API, and integration testing. - Lead automation initiatives to streamline testing processes and reduce manual efforts. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align automation strategies with business objectives. Test Framework Design & Maintenance : - Enhance existing test frameworks and create new tools/scripts to optimize testing workflows. - Ensure automation frameworks are scalable, maintainable, and adhere to best practices. - Implement and maintain robust reporting mechanisms for test execution and results. Technical Mentorship & Team Collaboration : - Mentor and guide junior Quality Engineers (QEs), fostering a culture of technical excellence. - Conduct code reviews, share best practices, and promote knowledge sharing across the QE team. - Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to identify and resolve bottlenecks. CI/CD Integration: - Seamlessly integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to support continuous delivery. - Ensure fast and reliable feedback mechanisms for every build and release. Tool & Technology Evaluation: - Stay updated on emerging testing tools and frameworks to ensure the team leverages cutting-edge solutions. - Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies to enhance automation efforts. Key Focus Areas Test Automation Expertise: - Design and execute automation strategies for complex workflows, including end-to-end and integration tests. - Strong expertise in API testing tools (e.g, Postman, REST Assured) and performance testing frameworks. Cypress Proficiency : - 1 year of hands-on experience using Cypress for test automation. - Develop and execute advanced Cypress scripts to validate complex UI workflows and integration scenarios. Framework Enhancement & Best Practices : - Continuously improve test automation frameworks by incorporating modular design patterns, reusable components, and advanced reporting. - Establish and enforce coding standards, version control practices, and test data management strategies. Qualifications & Skills Experience : - 6 years of experience in QA automation, with demonstrated success in leading test automation efforts. - Hands-on experience in Cypress for UI and workflow automation. Technical Skills : - Strong programming skills in languages like JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or Python. - Expertise in test automation frameworks/tools such as Cypress, Selenium, TestNG, or Playwright. - Proficiency in API testing and tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or Karate. - Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions for test automation integration. - Familiarity with version control systems (e.g, Git) and collaboration tools (e.g, JIRA, Confluence). - Experience with cloud platforms (e.g, AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization tools (e.g, Docker, Kubernetes). Preferred Skills : - Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or Gatling. - Knowledge of Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and tools like Cucumber or SpecFlow. - Exposure to mobile testing frameworks like Appium or Detox. - Familiarity with security testing concepts and tools (e.g, OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite).
