Job Description
Our client is a well-established manufacturer with a large modern machine shop. They are seeking a number of CNC Setter Operators to join their team.
Weekly rotating shift pattern - Monday to Friday; 6am to 2pm. Late: Monday to Thursday; 2pm to 10.30pm and Friday; 2pm to 7.30pm.
The Role
Setting and operating CNC multi-tasking lathes to manufacture components from raw material (bar stock) for our internal assembly flow lines to the highest quality and on time.
Duties and responsibilities
Setting and operating CNC lathes to produce small to medium size batches of work in a timely manner.
Inspecting work to Engineering drawings using various measuring equipment and reporting any quality defects to the machine shop supervisor.
Daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checks on machines, including maintaining good housekeeping standards, 5S requirements and reporting any issues promptly to supervision
Optimising efficiencies through reduced set-up and cycle times, plus tool life monitoring
De-burring, cleaning, final inspection, and completion of all traceability documentation
Carry out such other duties that may be reasonably requested
The Candidate
A knowledge of operating CNC machine tools
Experience of CNC lathes and ability to set and operate independently
Experience of reading and editing Fanuc based programs
Competent in reading and understanding engineering drawings and be able to inspect their work using a range of measurement equipment to ensure the product is correct to drawing

Offering up to £40,000 per annum plus a competitive benefits package
