Mechanical Project Manager
MEP Contractor / Building Services (Construction)
Central London
A medium-sized MEP Contractor thriving under new leadership has entered into several new sectors amidst its ambitious growth plans. As such, they require a Mechanical Project Manager to lead the mechanical instal on one of several new, London-based major schemes in the Commercial, Education & Health Care sectors, currently in the pre-construction phase.
Projects are valued at up to £30m in Building Services and you will be split between the Central London office and site, led by what stage projects are at.

Some of your duties will include:
Project Planning and Coordination:
Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical systems installations, ensuring that all work aligns with project timelines, specifications, and budget.
Team Management:
Manage and supervise the mechanical team, including engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and laborers. Ensure team members are working efficiently, safely, and in line with project goals.
Client Liaison:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships to ensure satisfaction and resolve any concerns or issues related to mechanical systems.
Design Review and Development:
Collaborate with the design team to review and validate mechanical designs, ensuring they are practical, meet regulatory standards, and fit the project requirements.
Procurement and Material Management:
Oversee the procurement of mechanical materials and equipment, ensuring timely ordering and delivery. Manage inventory, track usage, and ensure cost-effective sourcing.
Subcontractor Management:
Coordinate and manage subcontractors working on mechanical installations, ensuring they meet performance standards, timelines, and quality requirements.
Quality Assurance and Control:
Implement quality control measures to ensure all mechanical systems and installations meet company and industry standards. Conduct inspections and resolve any issues related to quality.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on-site. Conduct safety briefings, perform risk assessments, and ensure proper safety procedures are followed at all times.
Project Budgeting and Cost Control:
Monitor the project's financial status, including budget tracking and cost forecasting. Implement strategies to keep the project within budget while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Scheduling and Progress Monitoring:
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring that milestones and deadlines are met. Monitor progress regularly and report status to the senior management team and client.
Issue Resolution:
Address and resolve any technical, logistical, or personnel issues that arise during the course of the project. Escalate major problems to senior management as necessary.
Testing and Commissioning:
Oversee the testing and commissioning of all mechanical systems, ensuring that all systems are fully operational and meet performance criteria before handover to the client.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate project documentation, including specifications, change orders, testing results, and progress reports. Provide regular updates to clients and senior management.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that all mechanical installations comply with local building codes, industry regulations, and environmental standards. Obtain necessary permits and approvals as required.
Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Documentation:
Manage the production of O&M manuals, ensuring that all mechanical systems' operational and maintenance guidelines are accurately documented and delivered to the client.
Commissioning and Handover:
Oversee the commissioning process, ensuring all systems are tested, operational, and in compliance with the project specifications before final handover to the client.
