About the role:

An exciting opportunity to work at Box Hill Institute as our Academic Course Manager - Performance. This is a part time 4 days per week until December 2025.

The Academic Course Manager – Performance, manages and leads teaching and learning activities to ensure high quality innovative programs, relevant and engaging learning resources and excellent training delivery to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Music Industry. Success in the position will result in a high performing and engaged team, student achievement and improved education and employment outcomes, compliance and quality education.

This position may also involve academic delivery in relevant Degree programs & scholarly activities.

The Academic Course Manager – Performance is a member of the Music & Creative Industries department in the College of Higher Education. The position is responsible for liaising with students, relevant industry groups, community services providers, overseas partners and employees at all levels.

The Higher Education College is part of the Educational Delivery Division and provides a wide range of teaching and learning programs at local and international campuses.

About You:

  • Master’s degree qualified in relevant field, or a mix of tertiary qualification
  • Demonstrated extensive experience within the relevant field and/or similar role
  • Relevant research or scholarship publication record or equivalent
  • Solid understanding and demonstrated experience with international students cohorts
  • Demonstrated experience managing and motivating a high performance team of teaching employees, managing performance, facilitating development and providing feedback and coaching improving productivity and performance
  • Proven experience leading and managing academic programs that comply with relevant quality standards with a strong understanding of VET and Higher Education pedagogy. Demonstrated experience applying and coaching employees on teaching methodologies, techniques and standards appropriate to subject areas
  • Encourages new and different approaches and solutions that will deliver long term benefits beyond client expectations, challenges and supports others to deliver outstanding service and to deliver continuous improvement effectively managing risk
  • Demonstrates high-level awareness of and responsiveness to people from a

broad range of diverse backgrounds and emotional contexts, is able to shape responses for people, and see issues from the perspective of others
