About the role:
An exciting opportunity to work at Box Hill Institute as one of our Teacher Animal Studies. We have multiple opportunities until December 2025.
The Teacher Animal Studies provides high quality and innovative course materials and excellent teaching delivery to Animal Studies students, to:
- support student success in Animal Studies courses and thereby improve their employment and/or educational pathways
- ensure BHI Group compliance requirements are met.
The position reports to the Coordinator and is responsible for liaising with students, relevant industry groups, community services providers, overseas partners and employees of the BHI Group at all levels. The Teacher Animal Studies is part of the Faculty of Health, Disability, Community and Animal Sciences.
The Faculty of Health, Disability, Community and Animal Sciences provides a wide range of teaching and learning programs at local and international campuses. The Faculty delivers nationally recognised training to over 3,000 students in courses ranging from Certificates to Diploma level qualifications. Disciplinary areas include nursing, aged care, community services, children’s services, animal sciences, veterinary nursing, Animal Facilities studies, and laboratory science.
About You:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116/22) or a qualification at diploma level or higher in Adult Education
- Relevant industry qualifications
- Current and sound experience in relevant field
- Experience with student management systems for attendance tracking, retrieval of student details where required, and resulting
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver logical, succinct, up-to-date and engaging course materials and lessons. Demonstrated proficiency in using learning management systems (i.e. Moodle) to create innovative and engaging learning experiences for student
- Ability to develop a range of complex documents that comply with all relevant quality standards, including unit plans and assessment tools
- High level awareness of, and responsiveness to, people from a broad range of diverse backgrounds and emotional contexts
