Job Description
A well established company based in Greenside is seeking a Payroll Administrator. Duties: Assist in processing the monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and South African labour laws. Process employee deductions for tax, UIF, pension, medical aid, and other benefits, ensuring accurate calculations. Submission of EMP201s and loading of payments. Pulling payroll reports for auditors and EMP501 submissions. Registrations and follow-ups with the Department of Labour. Preparing documentation for statutory registrations. Capturing details on CIPC. BO submissions - CIPC only. Preparing BO Excel for trusts. Maintain an organized filing system for both physical and digital documents, ensuring easy access and confidentiality. Preparing files for submission to the Master. Requirements : Matric (Grade 12, with Mathematics and Business Studies or Accounting) with a preference for further studies or certification in HR or Payroll. A relevant qualification in Human Resources or Business Administration is advantageous but not essential. 0-2 years of experience in an administrative role, particularly in payroll, and office management. Exposure to payroll software such as Sage Payroll Professional, PaySpace and SimplePay is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. A basic understanding of South African payroll and tax legislation (BCEA,PAYE, UIF, SDL, etc.) will be beneficial. Critical Thinking: Ability to identify and suggest solutions to issues related to payroll, employee queries, and administrative tasks. Confidentiality and Integrity: Understanding of the need for discretion in handling sensitive employee data and payroll information. Organisational Skills: Ability to maintain a systematic filing system, both digitally and physically, Proactive: Able to take initiative, anticipate needs, and offer solutions. Team-Oriented: Collaborative, able to work effectively with others across departments. Reliable and Punctual: Consistently meets deadlines and attends work as scheduled. Positive Attitude: Eager to learn, adaptable, and open to receiving feedback.
