Junior IT Support Technician

Company established in the household textile industry is looking for a suitable candidate for an IT Support Technician role. Based in Jacobs, Durban. Key Responsibilities Installing and configuring computer hardware, cabling, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary Testing new technology Deploy new software and upgrade existing software when required Support factory and warehouses in terms of all IT needs Ensure tickets are dealt with and closed in accordance with standard operating procedure Set up applications, e-mail and equipment for users Replace computer/IT equipment in accordance with life cycle Train users as and when needed Conduct scheduled maintenance Basic programming Do minor repairs on equipment Obtain quotations for IT equipment and raise PO for approval Maintain asset register Adhere to POPI, IT policies and procedures Liaise with service provider when required Carry out all duties/tasks delegated by the Senior IT Administrator Assist Senior IT Administrator with the implementation of projects KPAs Assist users with technical problems for desktop support Maintain a healthy and available IT system Assist in business IT needs Education NQF level 5, Matric with Maths above 60% A certification, Microsoft certified IT support fundamentals certification. Skills Strong communication skills A working knowledge of IT operating systems, particularly Windows, online Exchange and Hands on experience of installing IT hardware and software Experience 1-3 years experience in IT position Competencies Communication Quality orientation Self-management Ability to work under pressure Attention to detail Punctuality Integrity
