Operations Manager

ENVIRONMENT: Our client is a fast-growing startup revolutionizing the parking industry by digitizing parking lots through license plate recognition, advanced management software, and digital payments. Based in Cape Town, they are scaling rapidly across South Africa and internationally, offering significant opportunities for growth and impact. They are looking for an Operations Manager to streamline new installations as they onboard more parking lots. This role involves planning and overseeing site designs, managing subcontractors, ensuring site requirements are met, commissioning installations, and configuring systems using Ubuntu/Linux. The position offers a dynamic environment with regular travel and client engagement. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about delivering high-quality results. DUTIES: Project Management : Coordinate and oversee installation projects from start to finish, managing timelines and budgets. Subcontractor Management : Obtain quotes, assess quality of work, and build lasting relationships with subcontractors. Supplier Coordination : Source, order, and manage inventory for signs, poles, cameras, kiosks, and other equipment managing, and maintaining stock. Technical Expertise : Install and troubleshoot hardware and software, with a focus on networking and Ubuntu-based systems. Site Optimization : Strategically place signs, cameras, and kiosks for optimal performance and aesthetics. Client Engagement : Conduct site visits to assess client needs and potential installations. Maintenance: Ensure operational continuity by managing site repairs and replacement parts for any failures. REQUIREMENTS: Proven experience in operations, project management, or technical installations. Strong understanding of networking principles and Ubuntu OS. Practical experience with hardware installation (cameras, kiosks, etc.). Particularly CCTV. Willingness to travel extensively for on-site work. A passion for finding unique solutions to unique problems A minimum of 2 years related experience and tertiary education / qualification ATTRIBUTES: Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills to engage with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Need to be neat, reliable and responsible with good problem-solving ability.
