Bookkeeper - Insurance Brokerage - Durban

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team as a key member of our brokerage firm. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing the daily financial transactions and accounts of our brokerage operations. This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, organized, and can work efficiently to maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping, knowledge of accounting principles, and strong analytical skills. Key Responsibilities: - Manage the general ledger and financial accounts of the brokerage firm - Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including sales, expenses, and investments - Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses for management review - Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasts - Prepare and submit tax documents and compliance reports as required - Assist with audits and financial examinations as needed - Collaborate with the brokerage team to provide financial insights and advice - Stay current on industry trends and best practices in bookkeeping and financial management Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field - Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role in a financial services environment - Knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws - Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications: - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation - Experience working in a brokerage or investment firm - Knowledge of brokerage operations and financial products If you meet the qualifications and are interested in joining our dynamic team, please submit your resume and cover letter for consideration.
