Our client, a leading quantitative research and trading firm, is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team in Paris. The successful candidate will be responsible for data manipulation and transformation, and will have the opportunity to work with an experienced team of professionals in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities


  • Design, review and implement services and clients.
  • Consistently apply and help evolve coding best practices: review peer code, lead or participate in design reviews, with a focus on code quality, testability, and efficiency.
  • Work with stakeholders and customers to understand their business needs, technical needs, and react accordingly.
  • Triage and investigate system issues and debug/track/resolve to ensure the robustness of our operations.


Required Skills


The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills:


  • Excellent knowledge of algorithms and data structures, as well as system design.
  • Proficiency in at least one prominent server-side programming language (Python, Go, Rust, C++, Java, etc…).
  • Experience writing high performance server code, multithreading, caching strategies, asynchronous IO, etc...
  • An overall understanding of the big data landscape, knowing the design, strengths and drawbacks of tools such as Elasticsearch, Kafka, BigTable, Cassandra etc…
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments.
