Financial Accountant

Job Description: As the Financial Accountant, your duties and responsibilities could include the following: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements Ensure compliance with IFRS and GAAP principles Assist in the development and preparation of annual budgets and forecasts Monitor and analyze actual performance against the budget, providing detailed variance analysis Collaborate with department heads to establish and maintain effective budgetary controls Coordinate and support internal and external audits Ensure compliance with tax regulations and relevant financial legislation Maintain organized and accurate financial records to ensure audit readiness Track and analyze costs associated with bus operations, maintenance, and administration Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies Provide financial insights that aid in informed decision-making Oversee the management of accounts payable and receivable functions Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow Perform detailed financial analysis to guide business decisions and strategic initiatives Develop financial models to assess investment opportunities and project potential outcomes Deliver regular financial insights and reports to management, ensuring informed decision-making Present financial results and insights to senior management Skills & Experience: Experience in financial reporting, budgeting and financial analysis Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards Advanced Excel skills Effective communication and presentation skills Qualification: Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles Relevant Finance or Accounting degree Grade 12 (Matric) Contact JENELLE COOKSON on 021 418 1750 , quoting the Ref: CTF020139.
