Maintenance Manager

Capac, (ex Lucernepack) is seeking to recruit a competent, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our team in the abovementioned position. Job purpose: Lead the site maintenance function in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure. Ensure that production machinery run to their maximum efficiency and output. This includes total preventative maintenance, managing breakdowns of mechanical, electrical and any other equipment. Responsibilities · Responsible for planned scheduling creation and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out. · Increase the operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, mean time between failure and downtime reduction, and manage and implement improvement plans. · Manage the team on technical best practice and ensure adherence to policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the department. · Implement and manage continuous improvement and manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommend changes in training, working practices and processes. · Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance. · Effectively delegate any maintenance issues to be resolved on each shift and small projects to the right skills in the team, planning and managing effective works. · Adhere to daily and weekly checks and ensure Assetpool remains updated. · Execute the Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities, and lead the team to deliver effectively. · Manage contractors on site to ensure safety standard are adhered to. · Schedule internal work maximizing planned downtime and reduce unplanned downtime. Requirements Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred, but a completed apprenticeship and/or proven experience will also be considered. Previous experience in a similar environment (Fruit Packhouse) will be advantageous. Experience in planning maintenance operations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. · Excellent problem solving, analytical and numerical abilities are crucial. · Working knowledge of facilities, machines and equipment. · Effective handling of detailed information and consistent attention to detail · Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes. · Effective budget control and allocation of resources are crucial. · A comprehensive list of duties and responsibilities will be discussed during interviews.
