Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Business Development and Operations Manager to oversee and drive business development and operations within the rope access, fabric maintenance, rigging, inspection, scaffolding, corrosion protection and/or offshore construction sectors. The ideal candidate will have significant hands-on experience, particularly in offshore and African markets, with a proven track record in managing business development strategies and operations in these industries. Key Responsibilities: Business Development: Lead business development initiatives, identifying new business opportunities and driving growth in both existing and new markets, especially in offshore and African regions. Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations and ensure efficient management of service delivery in rope access, fabric maintenance, rigging, inspection, scaffolding, and offshore construction projects. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business. Tender Preparation & Leadership: Prepare and lead tender submissions, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with company goals. Provide leadership to teams during project execution. Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute effective sales strategies, identifying and pursuing high-value projects and contracts. Demonstrate strong results-oriented sales focus to achieve set targets. International Travel & Relocation: Be prepared to live and work abroad for 68 months annually, with a focus on regions like West Africa or similar locations, providing on-the-ground leadership for operations. The ideal candidate will have significant hands-on experience, particularly in offshore and African markets, with a proven track record in managing business development strategies and operations in these industries. Required Candidate Profile: Core Service Expertise: A deep understanding of core services offered by the company, particularly in rope access, fabric maintenance, rigging, inspection, scaffolding, or offshore construction. Experience: Extensive experience (preferably offshore) as a rope access, fabric maintenance, rigging, inspection, scaffolding, or offshore construction Technician or Supervisor. Leadership in Similar Roles: Previous experience as a BDM, Operations Manager, or Country Manager in a similar capacity. Prior experience working in West Africa or other African regions is highly desirable. Willingness to Relocate: Willingness and ability to live and work abroad for 6-8 months annually in diverse and challenging environments. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively convey ideas and information across diverse audiences. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster and maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. Tender Preparation: Proven leadership experience in preparing and managing tenders, with a focus on ensuring successful submissions. Sales & Business Development: Strong background in sales, business development, and client acquisition with an emphasis on achieving measurable results. Results-Oriented: Highly results-oriented individual with a proven track record of delivering successful projects and business outcomes. Additional Attributes: Ability to adapt quickly to new business environments. Resilience in high-pressure situations. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions independently.
