Company: Lloyds Register Job ID: 38387 Position: Senior Marine and Offshore Surveyor Location: Preferable London, Southampton- UK About the Role: Join us as a Senior Marine and Offshore Surveyor and lead the charge in ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance in the maritime industry. With your expertise, you'll conduct critical surveys on diverse marine and offshore structures, driving excellence and innovation. Responsibilities: Conduct relevant activities, undertake project management, and provide advice for service delivery within your area of experience, adhering to budget constraints and contractual requirements. Produce deliverables to the agreed schedule, budget, and quality levels, and review and monitor other employees’ work as requested. Discuss and present deliverables with internal/external clients, suggesting solutions as necessary. Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards. Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge, and awareness. Assess or recommend the time and value of work for external clients and assist in identifying the most appropriate fee and cost structure. Mentor and coach other employees to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application. Contribute to external client management, ensuring service delivery is continually improved through monitoring and acting on client feedback. Ensure appropriate authorizations are gained and kept up to date, possibly involving Activity Monitoring. Undertake routine administration as required in line with current processes and procedures. Key Health & Safety Responsibilities: Eliminate or minimize employee exposure to risks by reviewing the health and safety risk register, applying appropriate controls, and ensuring health and safety is considered in planning and execution. Manage your own and your team's compliance with health and safety rules, ensuring employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely. Monitor and review health and safety performance, observing safety behaviors in the workplace and suggesting and implementing improvement activities as necessary. Qualifications: A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years program) or qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship’s officer. Membership of an appropriate professional institution (I. Eng or equivalent). Working towards or achieving chartered or incorporated engineering status. Ability to work in accordance with professional codes of conduct and the LR Code of Ethics in IMS01. Ability to use a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge to optimize the application of existing and emerging technology. Ability to apply appropriate theoretical and practical methods to the analysis and solution of engineering problems. Provide technical and commercial leadership within the responsibilities assigned. Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the work.
