Data Analyst /Researcher - environment and climate statistics Full-time Grade: PAL4 THE OECD – Who we are, what we do The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organisation comprised of 38 member countries, that works to build better policies for better lives. The Statistics and Data Directorate The Statistics and Data Directorate (SDD) provides statistics and data on a comparable basis and from a variety of sources to analysts, policy makers and members of civil society. SDD also develops new metrics and innovative digital tools to address emerging policy issues. The National Accounts Division (NAD) in SDD works on national accounts and on the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA). NAD is looking for a Data Analyst / Researcher who will contribute to its statistical work programme on the environment and climate change. Main Responsibilities Environmental-economic accounting and data work Maintenance of the annual air emissions accounts, mineral and energy resources, and physical energy flow accounts. Contribute to the development of estimation methods to fill existing gaps in GHG emissions. Maintenance and further development of the global environmental-economic accounting databases for aviation and maritime transport GHG emissions. Collaborate with experts using these data for modelling and projects. Undertake conceptual and methodological research on environmental-economic accounting and sustainable development. Communication, liaison and other duties Liaise with countries, other international organisations and other experts in the OECD. Represent the OECD in international meetings and attend webinars. Contribute to the organisation of technical workshops. Contribute to the development of tools, products, presentations and other communication materials. Ideal Candidate Profile Academic Background An advanced university degree or equivalent qualification in statistics, economics, econometrics, environmental sciences or a related field. Professional Background At least two years of relevant experience in working with policy-relevant statistics. Experience in collecting and analysing data and in developing appropriate analysis. Proficiency in working with large databases and with software and systems to manage those databases. Experience in drafting high-quality reports in English or in French. Tools Excellent programming skills (e.g. STATA, Visual Basic). Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint). Communication and Languages Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and knowledge of the other.
